I am passionate about advancing computer science and technology research, in all fields related to software engineering, formal methods, Cyber security and data sciences. My approach to research is grounded in logic and mathematics, as true scientific methods, which I believe provide the best and most reliable approach towards building robust human understanding of system behaviour. My role as an educator, is to communicate knowledge and enthuse others with that knowledge, equipping the new generation of researchers with the necessary reasoning tools to further their understanding of computer science and technology and their impact on society.
Before joining Buckinghamshire New University, I worked as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing, University of Portsmouth from 2010 to 2023. Prior to that, I was a Senior Research Scientist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Science and Technology Facilities Council, between 2007 and 2010. I also undertook several postdoctoral research positions in the past, including in Imperial College London, University College Cork and Dublin City University.
I currently lead the Computing and AI Research Group at BNU.
