I am passionate about advancing computer science and technology research, in fields related to requirements engineering, formal methods and dependability, Cyber security, applied data science and machine learning. My approach to research is grounded in logic and mathematics, as true scientific methods, which I believe provide the best and most reliable approach towards building robust human understanding of secure and intelligent system behaviour. My role as an educator, is to communicate skill and knowledge, and enthuse students to learn, equipping the new generation of researchers with necessary reasoning tools to further their understanding of software and computing technology and their impact on society.
Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I worked as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing, University of Portsmouth from 2010 to 2023. Prior to that, I was a Senior Research Scientist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Science and Technology Facilities Council, between 2007 and 2010. I also undertook several postdoctoral research positions in the past, including in Imperial College London, University College Cork and Dublin City University.
I currently lead the Computing and AI Research Group at BNU.
